PSI has completed a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System installation for the Carroll County Community College in August 2017. Currently, the Solar PV System is generating power that is supplying renewable energy. The size of 875.7kW DC system is directly tied to the College’s electrical room.  The annual production of electricity is roughly estimated at around 1,192,700kWh during the 1st year.  Based on production from the renewable energy Solar PV System, the College is positioned to reduce approximately $0.04 to $0.06 per kWh on its electricity budget.  Over the course of 20 years, the Solar PV System is expected to yield a substantial amount of savings for the Community College and the Carroll County.

The installation of a Solar PV System represents a worldwide citizen’s movement of preserving planet Earth and its air quality, fulfilling our generation’s obligation to reduce carbon footprints and pass down a cleaner environment to future generations. With these two prospective sites, only minor work is needed before ground work can begin. The Landfill site and WWTP each will have a 2.929kW system, and 1.823kW system respectively.  Just like the completed Solar PV System at Carroll County Community College, these two projects are poised to yield a substantial amount of renewable energy, thereby reducing energy costs projected for the next 20 to 25 years.

Offsite, PSI has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Carroll County that is planned to be built on a non-county owned land parcel. The 7.82MW Solar PV System will generate an estimated 10,651,000kWh of clean renewable energy during the first year of production.

With the commencement of these projects, Carroll County and PSI have formed a lucrative energy partnership that produces clean renewable energy, financially benefiting Carroll County and contributing to the preservation of Planet Earth.
